Dimension Data to sell solutions in India

Dimension Data India, a Hybrid IT services provider, who entered the Indian market from South Africa two decades ago, now plans to sell solutions in collaboration with other NTT group companies to enterprises and SMBs in India, thereby providing them with a full stack of solutions and services.

In conversation with ET, Kiran Bhagwanani, CEO, Dimension Data India, says that in the coming 12 to 24 months, they plan to work closely with all the NTT Group companies to take a full stack of solutions to its customers. He explains that, being a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT, they are now looking at leveraging the full capabilities of NTT Data, NTT Communications and Netmagic (An NTT Communications Company) to cater to the entire IT infrastructure lifecycle of clients.

Elaborating further on the cybersecurity aspect of the collaboration, he explains, “With a visibility into 40 percent of the world’s internet traffic, we are able to provide a highly accurate representation of the ever-evolving global threat landscape. Analyzing content from NTT Group operating companies, including NTT Security, Dimension Data, NTT Communications and NTT Data, and data from the Global Threat Intelligence Center, the report highlighted that there would be a significant increase in ransomware attacks. Using this we could issue advisories to our client well in time.”

Bhagwanani points out certain reasons as to why a collaborative suite of solutions will work out for their Indian clients. NTT had made a string of acquisitions in the last 7-8 years including Dimension Data in 2010. Likewise, they had acquired a lot of software companies in India. That was followed with NTT Communications acquiring Netmagic in 2016. ” All the companies are now integrated and well settled in the group. Be it providing telecom links nationally and internationally or data center capabilities or software services. Bringing together various NTT group capabilities and going to the market is a proactive approach to our competition.”

Bhagwanani says that over the next few quarters their role play will be more focused on hybrid IT, cybersecurity and managed services with an outcome based model. “We want to help our clients move from the legacy to hybrid IT and maintain robust security posture.”
