Maersk Line and Safmarine auctioned the container freight on their trade routes to West, East and South Africa during their recent customer event ’Africa Nite’, held in Mumbai. ’Africa Nite’ is a testament of the company’s focussed efforts to enable seamless trade between the two economies. This opens up new opportunities for Indian businesses to reach out to newer African markets, a major boost to enhance the trade ties between the Indian Sub continent and Africa. The event was attended by Maersk Line and Safmarine executives from all over Africa, and from HQ; including the global CEO of Safmarine, David Williams.
The proceeds amounting to USD 13000 from the auction went to World Vision India which support Maersk’s Healthy Highway Project and Fisherman Community Development Project.

World Vision India, was represented by Mr Ronald John – Head, Key Accounts and Mr Gamliel Sherio- Senior Manager, My City Initiative, Mumbai, who received the cheques during the event.
