On August 15, 2025, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. introduced four innovative concept SUVs set to launch between 2027 and 2030.
These vehicles are designed on the company’s cutting-edge modular, multi-energy NU_IQ platform, featuring both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle variants. Company officials aim these models at a global audience.
Currently, Mahindra exports to markets like South Africa and Australia, with electric vehicles reaching the U.K. The new models will initially debut in these regions, expanding later to other countries.
The concepts—Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X—target segments where the company currently lacks offerings.
R. Velusamy, President of Automotive Business and Managing Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., noted, “NU_IQ is a strategic blueprint for the future of Mahindra SUVs globally.”
He emphasized that the platform’s modular architecture allows for innovative designs across various models and powertrains while staying true to the core SUV lineage.
“Crafted to address contradictions, NU_IQ paves the way for our next generation of SUVs. It symbolizes a major leap forward, freeing customers from compromises and placing premium SUVs in the spotlight,” he added.
According to Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer of Auto & Farm Sectors, the NU_IQ SUVs, created at Mahindra’s Global Design studios in Mumbai and Banbury, mark a new chapter in their HEARTCORE design philosophy.
“The concept centers on forming an emotional connection between people and their vehicles while re-envisioning the future,” he stated.
He described the design theme ‘Opposites Attract’ as a blend of contrasting elements that promise to create memorable experiences and foster adventure and connection in any terrain worldwide.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division, remarked, “NU_IQ harmonizes innovation, contemporary design, and advanced technology to propel changes in the automotive landscape, both in India and globally.”
He added, “The four concepts on display offer a bold glimpse into the future, marking the arrival of a new era of uncompromising mobility and redefining freedom.”
These models will be developed at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, with production set to commence in 2027.
