Natco Pharma Aims for Majority Stake in Adcock Holdings, South Africa
Ahead of a crucial board meeting today, Adcock Holdings’ shares experienced a surge of 10%, following the announcement that discussions regarding a potential deal are underway.
Adcock Ingram, which operates under the Adcock Holdings umbrella, offers a broad range of generic and over-the-counter medications throughout Africa. The company currently has three manufacturing facilities in South Africa and operates two additional ones in India through a joint venture.
At present, Adcock’s stock is trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of 10 and boasts a market capitalization of around ₹4,500 crore.
While CNBC Awaaz has reached out to Natco Pharma for comment, there has yet to be any official response.
As of Wednesday, shares of Natco Pharma Ltd. have shown a slight uptick, trading 0.52% higher at ₹1,019.95.
