On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Koos Bekker, Chairman, and Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of Naspers, during the G20 Leaders’ Summit. The conversation centered on enhancing investments in India’s digital ecosystem.
Investment Focus Areas
The discussions highlighted potential growth in sectors such as artificial intelligence, startups, and space technology. According to Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, they aimed to explore new opportunities in consumer markets and tech innovations.
“Naspers’ achievements in India demonstrate the favorable business environment and the robust startup ecosystem,” Jaiswal remarked. Modi also expressed appreciation for Naspers’ commitment to collaborating with young talents across various fields.
Meeting with Australia’s Leader
In addition, Modi engaged in discussions with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The two leaders reviewed advancements in areas such as defense, security, trade, and minerals.
This meeting took place shortly after Modi’s arrival in South Africa to participate in the G20 Summit, which marks a significant moment as it is the first summit hosted on the African continent.
Upon arriving at Waterkloof Air Force Base in Gauteng, Modi received a warm official welcome, reinforcing India’s active role in international collaboration.
