RITES Secures ₹373 Crore Contract for NIMHANS OPD Building Project
State-owned engineering consultancy RITES Ltd has recently announced an important development regarding its project management consultancy (PMC) services. On November 3, the company revealed that it received a Letter of Award from the National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) for the construction of a new Outpatient Department (OPD) building at the NIMHANS campus in Bengaluru.

The project will be executed on a turnkey basis, with the total contract value amounting to ₹372.68 crore, which excludes GST and includes the PMC fee. RITES has indicated that the project is expected to reach completion within a span of 36 months. Additionally, the company confirmed that this order was awarded by a domestic entity, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in NIMHANS, ensuring that the contract does not fall under related party transactions.
H3: Collaboration with Shipping Corporation of India
In a related development, RITES Ltd recently established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. This collaboration aims to explore new avenues in maritime logistics and multi-modal transport solutions. The partnership is designed to facilitate the timely and efficient movement of RITES’ cargo across global destinations.
Through this collaboration, both companies will work on creating innovative, cost-effective, and resilient supply chain and logistics models tailored to RITES’ operational requirements. They will also focus on knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives, sharing best practices in areas like supply chain resilience, digital cargo tracking, and logistics planning for high-value consignments.
