Mining giant Vedanta Ltd announced on Monday that it has approved an Employee Stock Options Scheme (ESOS) valued at ₹450 crores for the fiscal year 2025.
The ESOS serves as a beneficial program for employees, offering them the opportunity to buy shares of the company at a heavily discounted rate (just ₹1). This initiative acts as a performance incentive and plays a crucial role in fostering wealth creation.
“Vedanta Group…has established a new standard in inclusive wealth creation by launching an ESOS worth over ₹450 crores in FY25,” the company shared in a recent statement.
The program encompasses both top executives and entry-level staff, highlighting its approach to democratizing stock options within the organization.
With over 20 years of experience in implementing ESOS, the company has seen a remarkable increase in equity awards, which have grown by more than 80% in just five years, the statement indicated.
