Vedanta Announces Employee Stock Options Valued at ₹450 Crore—All You Need to Know

Mining giant Vedanta Ltd announced on Monday that it has approved an Employee Stock Options Scheme (ESOS) valued at ₹450 crores for the fiscal year 2025.

The ESOS serves as a beneficial program for employees, offering them the opportunity to buy shares of the company at a heavily discounted rate (just ₹1). This initiative acts as a performance incentive and plays a crucial role in fostering wealth creation.

“Vedanta Group…has established a new standard in inclusive wealth creation by launching an ESOS worth over ₹450 crores in FY25,” the company shared in a recent statement.

The program encompasses both top executives and entry-level staff, highlighting its approach to democratizing stock options within the organization.

With over 20 years of experience in implementing ESOS, the company has seen a remarkable increase in equity awards, which have grown by more than 80% in just five years, the statement indicated.

Vedanta, part of Vedanta Resources, is among the globe’s foremost companies in critical minerals, energy, and technology. It has a vast presence across India, South Africa, Namibia, Liberia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, with significant operations in sectors like oil and gas, zinc, lead, silver, copper, iron ore, and steel.
