Neuberg Diagnostics Plans $350 Million IPO in India for 2026
The Chennai-headquartered company is currently in discussions with investment bankers and aims for a listing in the upcoming year, as per sources who wish to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the information.
GSK Velu, the founder of Neuberg and a pioneer in other healthcare initiatives, is also looking to take medical device supplier Trivitron Healthcare and eyecare chain Maxivision Eye Hospitals public after Neuberg’s IPO. Although discussions are ongoing, details regarding the IPO plans may still evolve.
“We are actively evaluating several options for Neuberg’s growth along with our other group companies,” stated Velu, who chairs Neuberg, Trivitron, and Maxivision, in an email to Bloomberg News. “An IPO is one of the potential pathways,” he added. He also noted that discussions with key stakeholders and advisors will continue to assess the best structures for the three companies.
Neuberg’s upcoming listing is timely, as the Indian diagnostics market is projected to expand at an annual growth rate of 9.2%, potentially reaching $26.7 billion by 2033. This growth is fueled by the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases among the nation’s over 1.4 billion populace, according to the IMARC Group. The company’s IPO will contribute to a wave of recent public offerings that are tapping into the burgeoning interest in startup investments within one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, particularly among domestic institutional and retail investors.
The IPO boom follows a strong performance in Indian public offerings, which have averaged a return of 15% this year, surpassing the 8.4% gain seen in the NSE Nifty 50 Index. Nevertheless, nearly half of the listings on the country’s main and junior boards are currently below their initial offering price, according to Bloomberg data.
Founded in 2017, Neuberg has established a presence in over 250 cities across India and also operates in the United Arab Emirates, the U.S., and South Africa, as detailed on its website. The chain specializes in genomics testing among other areas, such as haemato-oncology, histopathology, wellness programs, and management solutions for rare diseases.
Earlier in the year, Neuberg raised approximately 9.4 billion rupees from Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Ltd. Velu mentioned in a statement that the funds would be directed towards enhancing capabilities in personalized medicine and integrated diagnostics, and expanding their reach across the country.
