Sun TV Reports 13.4% Decline in Q2 PAT, Now at Rs 354.7 Crore
In terms of operations, the revenue plummeted by 38.9%, amounting to Rs 1,299.87 crore compared to Rs 935.7 crore in the previous year. Total expenses for the company increased sharply by 55.29%, reaching Rs 923.51 crore this quarter.
Notably, Sun TV Networks’ total income—including other earnings—rose by 30%, reaching Rs 1,439.82 crore during this period.
In the first half of FY26, the total consolidated income for Sun TV was Rs 2,919.01 crore, reflecting a 13.67% increase. Additionally, the company holds the Sunrisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise in the Indian Premier League and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in South Africa’s T20 League. The reported income from these franchises amounts to Rs 94.52 crore and Rs 567.55 crore, respectively.
Furthermore, as part of a share purchase agreement, Sun TV’s holding company has acquired a 100% stake in Sunrisers Leeds (formerly Northern Superchargers Ltd) for GBP 100.5 million, per their deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Sun TV has also declared an interim dividend of 75%, which equates to Rs 3.75 per share of Rs 5, in addition to a previous interim dividend of 100% announced on August 7.
The network operates numerous satellite television channels in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Hindi, and Marathi, as well as FM radio stations throughout India.
On Friday, shares of Sun TV Networks Ltd closed at Rs 563.20 on the BSE, marking a slight decrease of 0.04% from the prior day.
